                                         NOBUKO MIYAZAKI

Nobuko Miyazaki is a flutist/shinobue/nay player and composer. A passionate and emotive performer, she draws influences from around the world, embracing traditions and transcending them into her own expression.

Nobuko has performed throughout the U.S., Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, including at BBC Proms in the Park, Glastonbury Festival, and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival. Her composition “Inorikaze” (Prayer Wind) for Shinobue and Orchestra, written after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, was premiered by Manhattan Symphonie (2013) and was performed at Carnegie Hall (2015). In 2018, the Lebanese Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra performed her work “Imaginary Dance” (for flute, oud, and orchestra).
